Orkestra is collaborating with the OECD Local Development Centre (Italy) and the Productivity Institute (UK) in the organization of the conference From analysis to action: Harnessing local policies to boost productivity that will explore how regional productivity contributes to economic resilience, inclusion and sustainability.
The event will take place on June 5-6 in Trento and will bring together researchers and policy makers from various European regions to share strategies and lessons learned in the field of territorial development. The program of the meeting and the registration form are available on the OECD website.
An opportunity to highlight the value of the Basque Country's experience
The conference will be attended by several members of the Orkestra team. Our research director, James Wilson, will moderate a session on how local development strategies can ensure that productivity gains are shared equitably. On the other hand, Juan Gamboa will participate in a session that will focus on how regions are addressing labor market transformations and talent shortages.
In addition, representatives of three Basque public entities with which Orkestra collaborates closely will participate as panelists: Cristina Oyon, director of Technology, Innovation and Sustainability of SPRI; Cristina Múgica, general director of Territorial Competitiveness and Tourism of the Provincial Council of Bizkaia; and Garbiñe Manterola, general director of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (BRTA).
This event is an opportunity to highlight the experience of the Basque Country in terms of territorial competitiveness, as well as to share lessons learned and common challenges with other European regions. The agenda also includes sessions focused on research lines in which Orkestra has been working for years, such as the implications of green and digital transitions, multilevel governance and evidence-based policy making.
