Orkestra is strongly committed to diversity and the promotion of policies that ensure equal treatment and opportunities for all people working at the institute.

In line with the measures being carried out by the University of Deusto, the Basque Institute of Competitiveness has implemented a series of policies aimed at promoting real equality at all levels of the organisation. These measures are structured around five key areas, in accordance with the recommendations of European regulation:

  1. Reconciliation of work, family life and organisational culture
This includes actions related to digital disconnection, work-life balance rights, flexible working hours and equal distribution of the workload.

  2. Gender balance in leadership and decision-making
Orkestra works to ensure balanced gender representation at all levels, promoting equal participation and equal institutional visibility, as well as raising awareness of equal treatment.

  3. Gender equality in recruitment and career advancement.
The institute ensures that its selection processes comply with the principle of equal treatment and promotes equal opportunities in career advancement, training and development of its staff.

  4. Integration of the gender dimension in the contents of research and teaching
Orkestra incorporates the gender perspective in its research projects and teaching activities, as well as maintaining internal and external communication that promotes an egalitarian gender image and encourages the use of non-sexist language.

  5. Measures against gender-based violence, including sexual harassment
This includes training and dissemination of the protocol against harassment at work, as well as measures focused on the psychosocial sphere and the prevention of occupational risks.

The diagnosis of the current situation and the specific actions planned for each key area are included in the following Equality Plan.
