  • Two professors from the Polish university have learned first-hand about Orkestra's experience in the development of transformative research projects through knowledge generation.

On 22 April, two representatives of the University of Łódź in Poland met with the Orkestra team during their visit to the University of Deusto.

The Polish university is creating a centre to support the development of the labour market and promote innovation in Poland and its regions, so the meeting was an opportunity for the exchange of experiences and good practices on knowledge generation and the implementation of projects that improve regional competitiveness.

Professors Lukasz Arendt and Artur Gajdos from the Faculty of Economics and Sociology at the University of Lodz took part in the meeting. Orkestra was represented by its General Director, Mari Jose Aranguren, and researchers Juan Gamboa and Mikel Albizu.

According to Gamboa, "one of the objectives of the centre being promoted by the University of Lodz is to carry out what Orkestra has defined as transformative research through the generation of actionable knowledge, so there are many possibilities for collaboration and mutual learning".

The University of Lodz is part of the European University of Cities in Post-Industrial Transition (UNIC), which brings together ten universities from all over Europe rooted in post-industrial urban ecosystems, including the University of Deusto, to promote the development of knowledge and co-creation through collaboration, innovation and inclusion for development and social impact.
