Mikel Albizu

Research technician

He has over 15 years' experience in public policy research and analysis, having collaborated with regional, national, and international institutions. His research focuses on two areas: the first involves analysing the alignment between the education system and the labour market, particularly vocational training, while the second involves studying urban competitiveness in the context of the emerging economic model. At Orkestra, he currently coordinates various projects linked to both lines of research.

Throughout his career, he has collaborated on research and consultancy projects with various public administrations and institutions, combining academic research with a practical focus on designing and improving public policies. He has also published numerous academic articles and specialist reports and participated in international forums, presenting analyses and insights on employment, urban competitiveness, and education systems.

Career

• He holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Deusto, specialising in Urban Planning and Quantitative Techniques.
• He completed a Master’s degree in Territorial and Population Studies, specialising in spatial planning and local development, at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
• He is currently completing the PhD Programme in Business and Territorial Competitiveness, Innovation and Sustainability (CETIS), run by Deusto Business School.
