reunion CES

The Economic and Social Council of the Basque Autonomous Community (CES) and the Economic and Social Council  of the French region of  Nouvelle Aquitaine (CESER Région Aquitaine Limousin Poitou-Charentes) held a joint meeting in San Sebastian on February 14-15 to work on ‘Innovation, technology transfer and  advanced manufacturing’.

These institutions channel in their respective territories the participation of social and economic agents in public policies. This meeting was one of a series the objective of which is to explore in depth mutual knowledge of the socio-economic reality of both territories.

Orkestra along with Bihartean was invited to participate presenting the results of the work carried out between 2013 and 2016 in the cross-border Interclustering project funded by the   Euskadi – Aquitania Euro-region. Olga Irastorza (Bihartean), Henar Alcalde (Orkestra) and Usue Lorenz (Orkestra) presented the work performed in the  Interclustering 2013-2016 project. On the one hand, they presented the comparative analyses of the productive fabric Aquitania – Euskadi and a technological analysis based on patents, which in the period 2013-2016 contributed to reflection and debate on opportunities for cross-border collaboration, in collaboration with economic actors from the cross-border space. In addition, they presented specific opportunities for collaboration detected as a result of this participatory reflection, as well as specific collaborations resulting from the process (click here for the presentation)

Orkestra and Bihartean have been working since 2014, under a strategic agreement with the Euskadi Aquitania Euro-region, on driving and promoting cross-border business collaboration. Following this line of work, the Competitiv’eko Project is currently being developed, which seeks to intensify cross-border collaboration between companies and institutions on the basis of the economic specialisation of the participating regions (Nouvelle Aquitaine, Navarra and the Basque Country).
