A delegation from the Department of Economics and International Management at Kiev National Economic University paid Orkestra a visit to find out more about its activities. The three-day stay focused on sharing transforming research models which Orkestra has worked on since it was created. The visit also led to joint reflection with this Ukrainian university on how to strengthen scientific and research abilities related to clusters and competitiveness in the RIS3 smart specialisation framework and how to help the Kiev National Economic University to become an agent of change to boost Ukrainian competitiveness.
Anastasiia Konstantynova, researcher at Orkestra, and Usue Lorenz, research facilitator, were in charge of hosting the delegation. They stated that what their visitors found most attractive was “the Institute’s organisational culture centring on cooperation and mutual trust and its chameleon-like ability to adapt to change in order to facilitate processes focusing on guaranteeing the Basque Country’s socio-economic welfare”.
The visit formed part of Orkestra's strategic area which focuses on expanding its international network for joint cooperation on different projects to enrich knowledge and later transfer it to strategic improvement of territorial development In this sense, both institutions have started up, jointly with another two universities from Denmark and Vienna, a proposal in the working programme entitled Spreading Excellence and Widening Participation.
