Financial Controller and Economist
As a senior professional, Carme plays a cross-functional role across the Institute, combining financial and management responsibilities with support for a range of areas, including people management and the monitoring of the Equality Plan through indicator analysis and reporting.
Since joining Orkestra in 2011, she has taken on responsibilities related to internal control, budget planning and monitoring, the financial management of projects and grants, treasury management, auditing, and financial and economic analysis.
Her career combines extensive experience in management control, finance and business analysis with a growing interest in applied economics and research. Before joining Orkestra, she worked as an Industrial Controller at Iparlat, Head of Accounting at UBK and Auditor at Deloitte, where she worked on financial audits for private companies across the industrial and commercial sectors, as well as for public-sector entities.
She is now embarking on a new stage in her research career as a doctoral researcher in the field of regional economics, focusing on industrial agglomerations, firm productivity and territorial spillovers.
Career
- She holds a Degree in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University and a Master’s Degree in Economic Analysis from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).
- She has also completed further training in Management Control and Cost Analysis at EADA and the Microeconomics of Competitiveness course at the University of Deusto.
- She has more than twenty-five years of professional experience in auditing, accounting, management control and financial management, both in the corporate sector and in research organisations.
- In the 2026–2027 academic year, she begins the Interuniversity Doctoral Programme in Business Administration and Management, through the UOC, where her research focuses on regional economics and territorial competitiveness.
