Ainhoa Arrona

Researcher

Ainhoa Arrona is a researcher at Orkestra – Basque Institute of Competitiveness. She holds a PhD from the University of Deusto in the Human Rights: Ethical, Social and Political Challenges programme, a BA in Humanities and Business (University of Deusto) and a Master's in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (UJI–UNED).

Her field of research focuses on territorial development strategies and policies, collaborative governance and change in public organisations, as well as on research–policy interaction. From a qualitative approach, with an ethnographic sensibility and a grounding in action research, her interest lies in understanding social action in context, and in analysing policy, and the social and institutional dynamics that shape regional development, while contributing to processes of collective construction.

She has mainly worked on governance-building processes and public policy projects in collaboration with regional institutions. She has published her work in academic journals and books. Before joining Orkestra, she worked in the private sector and in international development cooperation.
