Researcher
Her research focuses on energy markets, particularly on the modeling of electricity and natural gas prices, the measurement and management of market risks, and the impact of weather factors.
At Orkestra, she has contributed to projects on the evolution of retail electricity prices, electricity market design, the social acceptance of energy projects and infrastructure, incentives for investment in clean technologies, energy poverty, and the relationship between electricity grids and competitiveness.
Stephanía has published in leading energy journals such as Energy Economics, Energy Policy, Energy, and Applied Energy, among others. She has also contributed as a lecturer to the Master’s Degree in Continuing Education in Innovation and Technology (MDIT) at the University of Deusto, specifically in the Energy Transition module.
Career
- Stephanía began her academic career in Colombia, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Master’s degree in Applied Economics, and a Ph.D. in Engineering (with a specialization in Industrial Engineering) from the Universidad del Valle.
- She completed a doctoral research stay at the Energy Center of EPFL (Switzerland).
- From 2018 to 2022, she was a professor in the Department of Finance at EAFIT University (Colombia) and in the School of Economics at the Universidad del Valle (Colombia), where she taught courses in corporate finance, financial risk measurement and management, financial mathematics, and macroeconomics.
