Summary

The energy transition and the process of gradual decarbonization of the economy are giving rise to the development of new jobs, known as "green jobs", which may refer to new occupations and activities or to existing jobs that are adapted. This report reviews the main green job profiles that are emerging as a result of the evolution towards a more sustainable economy. It also reviews the current situation of green jobs in the Basque Country and analyzes to what extent the Basque education and training system promotes and facilitates the adaptation of workers’ capabilities to the job skills they will need to meet the challenges posed by the transformation of the economy into an environmentally sustainable one.
