C. Estrategico y Pilotaje I WEB

Representatives of the governments and institutions of the Euro-regional space and of the partner institutions of the COMPETITITV’eko project met today in Hendaye in order to learn of the progress of the latter and to reflect together upon the regional interests of cross-border collaboration based on the economic specialisation of each of the regions: New-Aquitaine, the Basque Country and Navarra.

COMPETITIV’eko is a strategic cross-border project born in 2013 which aims to dynamise innovation and competitiveness via the development of an ecosystem of business collaboration in the space of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, the Basque Country and Navarra, in the framework of the European programme POCTEFA. Its participants are a consortium from the three regions formed by CCI Bayonne Pays Basque, Orkestra-Basque Institue of Competitiveness, Sodena, Chamber of Commerce of Gipuzkoa and Bihartean.

The creation of this ecosystem seeks the reinforcement of channels of business and institutional collaboration. Thus, amongst the results anticipated in the short term is the establishment of a dynamic of sustainable cooperation and consideration of the strong points of the cross border space of the RIS3 strategies in the three territories; in the longer term, the goal is to promote collaboration agreements between cross border companies and knowledge agents for the commercialisation of new products. To this end, COMPETITIV’eko will work with the economic actors of each territory, clusters, development agencies, technological centres, companies, universities, etc. In the economic sectors defined: advanced manufacturing, energy, biohealth and agrofood.

The Strategic Committee of the Project met his week in Hendaye. The meeting was attended by representatives of the institutions of the Euro-regional space and members of each of the partner members of the COMPETITIV’eko project in order to learn of the project’s progress and reflect upon the regional interests of cross border collaboration in the framework of RIS3 strategies. Among those attending the meeting were the vice-president of economic development of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, Bernard Uthurry; the secretary general of the Presidency of the Basque Government, Jesús María Peña and the vice-president of Economic Development of the Government of Navarra, Manu Ayerdi.

In parallel fashion there was a meeting of the Project pilot committee to share the results achieved to date and reflect upon potential policies, instruments and agents that can contribute towards the operativity of cross border collaboration.
