Research Facilitator

Mercedes Oleaga holds a degree in Sociology and a Diploma in Advanced Studies in International Economics and Development and a postgraduate degree in Applied Social Research, all from the University of the Basque Country. She was a visiting researcher at the Centre for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences of Cardiff University (Wales, UK).

Before joining Orkestra, she worked in strategic consultancy for the public administration, working on the design and implementation of policies and instruments to promote science, technology and innovation, as well as defining actions to improve regional competitiveness.

Mercedes currently forms part of Orkestra's Wellbeing Lab, its main interest being competitiveness at the service of wellbeing, mainly associated with the effects of competitiveness on people's wellbeing and its relational dimension in areas such as employment, demographic change or the objectives of sustainable development.
