Mari Jose CIC Network

Mari Jose Aranguren, general director at Orkestra, participated in the ideas table that was organised by the journal of cicNetwork, the network promoted by the Centres of Cooperative Investigation in the Basque Country.

On this occasion, the session look at: “Industry and research, are these two realities increasingly closer?”. Mari Jose Aranguren participated together with José Ignacio Hormaeche, general director of the Energy Cluster; Antonio Martínez, CEO at Progenika; Arrate Olaiz, innovation director at Ibarmia; Azucena Castro, general director at OWL; and Amaia Maseda, vice chancellor of Projection and Transfer at the UPV/EHU. The table was chaired by José Emoris, president of CIC Margune and R&D director at CIE Automotive.

Each speaker replied to questions related to industry and research, centring the debate on the future demand of researchers in industry and the challenges to be faced for both research and industry/firms.

Mari Jose Aranguren, who responded to questions such as, does research keeps the industry in mind?, and does industry keeps research in mind?, highlighted, among other aspects, the importance of driving social innovation understood as the improvement of the relationship between research and business system agents. She also pointed out that research can have a higher impact on the industry and in the importance of applying research in social sciences, from the social innovation/relationship construction point of view, as well as in fields of scientific research.
