Orkestra researcher Bart Kamp took part as a speaker in the International Seminar on Servitization, held in the province of Cordoba (Argentina) on 10th June. His involvement focused on sharing knowledge about this topic with academic experts and figures from the province's business world.

The seminar, co-organised by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Mining and Technological Scientific Development, the Industrial Union of Cordoba, Orkestra and ProCórdoba, sought to provide elements to introduce or incorporate servitization in companies with the aim of improving territorial competitiveness. In this respect, Bart Kamp noted that it is important to see servitization as “a means to ascend in competitiveness and attract more value”. In this vein he highlighted that “it concerns a strategy that is being adopted in countries such as England, Denmark and Switzerland, as well as in Spanish-speaking countries like Spain and Argentina”.

The fundamental principle of servitization is that of understanding how the client will use the product or service and increase the value of the proposal through providing additional services that complement its use, role, implementation or application. Thus, servitization offers companies three large incentives: financial (the possibility of an additional source of income); strategic (through the cogeneration of value between suppliers and customers promoting customer loyalty) and it can also act as a source of product differentiation and marketing (increasing sales and aiding the introduction of new products to the market).
