Portada cuenca atlanticaThe work carried out by out by the Center for Transatlantic Relations of the University Johns Hopkins and the Department of Energy, provide a holistic view of the new energy scenario of the Atlantic Basin. The book explains the situation of the different energy sources in the territory, including unconventional fuels, offshore energy and the revolution towards a low-carbon economy. The authors of the book invite the reader to reflect on the evolution of the energy sector in this geographical area, the opportunities and the future challenges.

Among the main challenges is that of achieving a greater integration of the Atlantic Basin, in a scenario where the Pacific is going through an important growth due to, among other things, the Trans-Pacific Partnership or the Agreement between China and the United States of America against Climate Change. The book also emphasizes the need to give the Atlantic Southern Hemisphere and especially Africa the attention they deserve, before the new energy scenario.
