Abstract

Fostering innovation-driven regional development has become a major priority for public policy, focusing ever more attention on how best to leverage the unique strengths and assets of places. The scope of the regional innovation policy debate has also broadened, with a new stress on the demand side as well as the more familiar supply side focus on science and technology.
