Cristina Aragón Amonarriz is a Professor in the Department of Management at Deusto Business School-University of Deusto and a Senior Associate Researcher at Orkestra-Basque Institute of Competitiveness, with whom she collaborates on research projects focused on family businesses, territorial roots and the evaluation of public policies.
Since 2000, Cristina has been the Director of the Chair of Family Business (Antonio Aranzábal Foundation-Deusto Business School) and also of the Chair of Family Business (University of Deusto-Institute of Family Business-IEF). As a result of this work, she is a member of the Institute of Family Business' (IEF) Network of Chairs, in which 38 Spanish universities participate, and collaborates with the Association of Family Businesses of the Basque Country (AEFAME). She was also the Director of the Strategy and Information Systems Department at Deusto Business School from 2004 to 2013.
Throughout her career, Cristina has participated in numerous competitive and concerted research projects with different agents and institutions (Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, AEFAME, Gipuzkoa Trade Federation, Gipuzkoa Chamber of Commerce, etc.). She is co-author of the Family Business – Entrepreneurial Family Case Collection, which has published more than 25 family business cases; has supervised doctoral theses that have been recognised with various awards; and has published books, book chapters and articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Family Business Strategy, European Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, Entrepreneurship and Regional Development, Management Decision, Journal of Family Business Strategy, European Planning Studies, Papers in Regional Science, Business Ethics: a European Review or Nonprofit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, etc. Cristina has also been a speaker at various business forums and has disseminated her work in opinion articles in the media and press.
