Sofia, technician at Orkestra, has a Degree in Business Administration and Management, specialised in internationalisation at the University of the Basque Country. She also has postgraduate training in international development and sustainable tourism from the UOC.
Sofia began her international career thanks to the BEINT scholarships of the Basque Government that took her to the USA, where she worked at the Commercial Office of the Spanish Embassy in Washington DC, and later at the World Bank in the Urban Development and Territorial Planning Unit. Subsequently, Sofia spent several years doing consultancy, project management and research with international NGOs and institutions in regional and urban planning, local development, gender, and tourism, through which she spent long periods in India and East Timor.
Sofia is currently working on projects related to education, employment and urban sustainability at Orkestra, and combines her work with a doctoral thesis.
