We apply scientific methods to address real problems and contribute to the academic community through our research. All this aims to ensure that the knowledge we generate is useful for the key actors that contribute to the Basque Country’s competitiveness".
In the Basque Country Competitiveness Report 2021 we presented a new framework that incorporates essential wellbeing dimensions to identify the keys to competitiveness in the Basque Country.
Furthermore, we have five observatories that allow us to explore and monitor the Basque Country’s competitive situation in various areas.
These diagnostic tools received more than 10.300 visits in 2021.

We are an international benchmark as a research institute at the service of the region. We collaborate with a wide network of expert actors worldwide with a twofold objective: to highlight the Basque competitiveness and welfare model and identify best practices to be applied in the Basque Country”.
One of our milestones in 2021 has been the update of the "Basque Case", which has had a significant impact at the international level.
This document, which builds on the analysis previously conducted by Harvard Business School, explores the main features and challenges of the Basque Country's territorial strategy between 2008 and 2020 and identifies lessons that can be useful for other regions seeking to build long-term sustainable and inclusive economic development.
