zorionak 2023

In recent years, the pandemic, the war and the crisis in value chains have accelerated profound changes in our society, with impacts that are still difficult to foresee and which will substantially condition our future.

Despite the complex situation, our Basque Country Competitiveness Report 2022 concluded that the foundations of competitiveness in the Basque Country continue to be solid and that, although the economic situation of recent years has had a negative impact on some dimensions, our economy is making a robust recovery.

However, it is becoming increasingly clear that we live in a context where uncertainty has become the norm, so adapting and transforming ourselves will be our only means of survival.

At Orkestra we believe that we can contribute to the resilience of the Basque Country in two ways. Firstly, by providing rigorous analyses that contribute to decision-making and allow us to identify the challenges facing the territory. Secondly, by working on a daily basis to address these challenges with our partners, designing agendas and transformative research projects.

Implementing inclusive regional and urban strategies; fostering multilevel collaborative governance; building a dynamic and effective skills, training and talent ecosystem; analysing the functioning of energy markets or rethinking the role of clusters are just some of the challenges we are currently investigating.

In 2023 we will continue working to address these challenges in a collaborative way and to build a competitiveness model for inclusive and sustainable wellbeing.
