On the 12th and 13th December, José Luis Curbelo, Mikel Navarro and Bart Kamp, Managing Director, Director of the MOC course and Head of the Strategy Department of Orkestra, respectively, participated in the annual meeting held for the representatives of the MOC course around the world. The meeting, held at Harvard University, was preceded on the 11th by the MOC Network Cluster Research Workshop, in which they also participated. |

Iñaki Peña is invited by the University of Panama to teach the course “Research on Firm Creation”, in its PhD program “Economics and Business Administration” |

Iñaki Peña, Head of Orkestra’s Entrepreneurship Department, taught the course “Research on Firm Creation“, in the University of Panama’s PhD program “Economic and Business Administration” on 5th and 9th December. Around thirty students participated in both sessions, which also brought together researchers from several Panamanian universities. During his stay in Panama, Iñaki Peña also held a number of interviews with technicians from tech firm incubators. |

The Basque Government and Orkestra received the passing of the torch in New Zealand to host the 15th International Conference of The Competitiveness Institute (TCI). |

The TCI Annual Conference will be held in the Basque Country from 16th to 19th October 2012. The Basque Country was chosen from 7 different countries who had sent proposals to organise this international conference, the 14th edition of which was brought to a close in New Zealand on the 2nd December.

On Friday the 25th November, Maria Larraza, member of the Strategy Department of Orkestra, defended at Mondragon University her doctoral thesis project "The role of market orientation on organisational innovation in industrial SMEs of the Basque Country: Case studies". The examining board, formed by Deusto University, Orkestra and Mondragon University PhD’s, emphasized the robustness and ambition of the project, and especially valued its innovative character, in both the field of innovation and marketing studies and in the proposed research methodology. Currently the researcher is absorbed in field work of her first case study, and combines this activity with research projects of the Strategy Department. |
